Give developers the option of specifying where users, groups, passwords and other supporting data are stored when the desktop security functionality is enabled. We need a way to store user entered changes OTHER than in the Database Library. Optional encryption in the alternate storage location would be a plus, too. At present if the customer adds users, groups, or changes passwords, all of that gets lost when the ...more »
It would be very useful for all users, old and new, if there is a tool developed in the APLHA, which converts the classic desktop forms in the Xdialog 'forms'. New users would help such a tool in learning xDialog and old ones will help in faster work on projects.
It would nice to allow developers to set the main A5 window colors. Style Sheets already exist so perhaps this is where the color settings could be done. It will help desktop developers create application with a main window, etc that fits their color schemes.
Since alpha already uses the codejock library would appreciate a feature pack for creating a scheduler on the desktop. Similar to:
If this inexpensive software can do it so should Alpha.
Using modal windows - buttons need a greater degree of obvious control. The ability to select when a button should be avalible - the VCR super controller does not offer enough flexability...
Options for example:
'disable whilst in change mode'
'disable whilst in browse mode'
For the runtime installer. A way is needed so c++, runtime, .net files and alpha runtime can be installed in one operation. It would also be nice if some registry entries can be made.
We can do this easily with things like astrum installer, but it does not appear to be possible with alpha installer.
I would like to have the Wishlist have wishlist entries distiguishable as to whether they pertain to a Wishlist feature for the Desktop side or the Web side of Alpha
Having seen a sneak preview at the London Conference (thanks Alpha and Avanquest) please make this available on the desktop also. If the licencing issues make it an extra cost add on then so be it. It would be such a great feature in both the web and desktop arenas.
1 - When making a button for a desktop form to call up another form, I only see a way to apply one filter - at least readily/easily. I've already had several instances when I wanted a second filter, or more.
2 - When I edit that Action, I don't see a way to readily see even what filter and/or sort is in the definition, much less change it. I have to make a new button every time.
