Being able to shift-click a bunch of fields and click 'Hide Row' or modify other properties would be a good addition
The included CSS styles are okay but, to be honest, most look like they are straight out of the DOS days. I'd like to have some more modern templates included with Alpha.
It would be nice to be able to set in settings / preferences the default image file extension to be used the file selection box when entering data into a an image reference field. Currently always opens as BMP and each time you use the file dialog you have to change to JPG
It'd be great when you have a large number of fields displayed, to be able to scroll down the grid while the column titles remain fixed.
How about a cookbook that is chock-full of code recipes that address common programming tasks, as well as techniques for building web apps. Something that allows one (especially newbies) to copy and paste the code samples into a project. This would allow us to get a program done faster and reduce the learning curve in the process.
We have huge grids/ Repeating sections and when the user scrolls to the right he can no longer see the Row Label column(s). We would like to be able to freeze 1 - 3 columns into place as a row label, so that these columns can be seen no matter how much the user scrolls. Just fix them in place. Many users now use SQL with a single connection string. So, on the Web Project Profiles property sheet, add a General option to default to AlphaDAO and that connection string. That's it - my whole suggestion. I would like to be able to use Containers, Frames and Tab Panes in both the Search part and Grid part. Among other benefits, the ability to use Show/Hide for groups of fields in the Search Part would be very useful.
Having seen a sneak preview at the London Conference (thanks Alpha and Avanquest) please make this available on the desktop also. If the licencing issues make it an extra cost add on then so be it. It would be such a great feature in both the web and desktop arenas.
The lookup allows for a dynamic filter - which allows you to filter a lookup based on grid fields. This feature would be really nice to have in a dropdown.
In several places (Column Labels, Buttons, Menus) in fact it is possible to use Unicode text, but the editor does not allow Unicode input. You have to go somewhere else, type Unicode text, and then Copy and Paste the HTML code.
All these places should launch the HTML editor when clicked in the develpoment environement.
