Grid with "Row" labels vertical along the left, without the labels repeating for each record - just like the grid we have now, but reversing horiztonal and vertical - without manual coding.
We have Ajax & SQL power so an option to toggle search as you type behavior would be very powerful!
Web Grids - both Grid and Detail Parts - under Insert Special Controls - I would like Record Navigation buttons, including all the options available on desktop forms (save, new, duplicate, next, previous...) giving us Codeless access to the same range of control we have on a desktop form. I want to be able to make them the size I want, with the image and/or words I want, use the ones I want and place them wherever in ...more »
I have several different ways to Search that could lead to the same Grid. And, I have several identical Searches associated with different Grid Components. I do this to address the needs of different users of my application. To do this now, I maintain multiple grids. If I make a change, I have to change each one separately. I would like a Search part as a completely separate Search Part that could then be coded ...more »
Grid property that would hide the grid if no records are being displayed.
How about a save & publish button (2 in 1) when working on a component. Will just make it easier when you want to do both and sometimes the save button doesn't register when you click to publish so you have to re-save then publish again.
It would be nice to see an auto suggest list (auto complete) feature added to the grid quick search text box like can be done in the full search grid part.
Grid components execute two queries when opened--the main SELECT statement that the developer enters and a secondary SELECT Count(*) statement for displaying the number of records, dealing with record pagination, navigation, etc. The Count(*) query is usually out of sight, out of mind, but checking my MySQL slow query log, I often find lots of these "SELECT Count(*) FROM..." queries. These queries are created by Alpha ...more »
Allow group breaks on multiple fields in the Grid Component. The objective here is to allow for a "drill down" grid that allows users to click on the break summary and see lower level summaries, then finely the detail values. I have tried overriding the Xbasic by creating new tmpl.groupBreaks.expression2=”second value” to no avail. I have also tried extending this with the Adjacency List Model, but this solution ...more »
I would like to be able to apply a saved grid template at any time to an existing grid. Of course this risks damaging existing valid properties such as db connections etc.To allow for this, one must be able to select the template properties to apply. In addition the template should include more generic rule based properties (font size, row height as a function of font size, cell width based on field name or field length, ...more »
Aside from filters and arguments, the search part can also be used to limit what a user can see. But only if one checks the 'Hide grid when no search active' option. But I find grids that appear and disappear have disadvantages: 1. They can be off-putting for new users. 2. They make it more difficult to create interfaces with more predictable appearance and behaviour. I would therefore like the option to display an ...more »
If you have a table or view w. many fields it is very difficult to find the field you want to add to the grid. We could really use an alphabetic sort option of available fields.
