The lookup allows for a dynamic filter - which allows you to filter a lookup based on grid fields. This feature would be really nice to have in a dropdown.
The same way, it is possible right now to enable or disable the edit of a single field, it should be possible to enable/disable the edition/deletion of a record, based on a field value condition.
In several places (Column Labels, Buttons, Menus) in fact it is possible to use Unicode text, but the editor does not allow Unicode input. You have to go somewhere else, type Unicode text, and then Copy and Paste the HTML code.
All these places should launch the HTML editor when clicked in the develpoment environement.
Real life sentences don't fit in the available space. Of course you can scroll, but it is a pitty since there is lot a space available.
The login component currently does not respect dynamic connection strings. If the websecurity tables are ActiveLink tables to a MySQL database and the login component is based on these tables - the dynamic connection string wont properly resolve.
Most seasoned developers can write SQL off the top of their head. Clicking the 'Edit' button everytime is a hassle.
Editing the SQL should not remove the read only flag from tables in the 'Select Primary Key' dialog. Making the tables read only everytime is a hassle.
This window should be re-sizable. Real life Conditions don't fit in the available space and confuse with the Label.
In many cases you need a label at the left AND a label in the right:
Length: 1234 mm
It would be nice to have this second label among the available properties.
Of course, even now a similar effect can be achieved using a Free Form template. Having the second label would be better.
I would appreciate having a few grid samples on calculated fields (using numeric values, text fields, date and time, etc).
I would appreciate also having a few grid samples on summary values.
I would like to have language support in Grid>Properties>Layout Options>Title
Apparently "Language definitions" does not recognize the "a5:r" tags in that area...
Being able to shift-click a bunch of fields and click 'Hide Row' or modify other properties would be a good addition
Well, when I see only a couple of votes on each thing, it makes me think very few people come here. I'd suggest this be listed as one of the spaces on the main forum, just like Alpha 5 Version 10 Web is, or Desktop, etc.
It seems that the remember me feature of the login component is well and truly "not working". I think this would be a really useful feature .. giving the logged in user the ability to remain logged in if desired. Ironically, the remember me feature used on the Alpha Forum does work.
When this flag is checked, changing a grid field or having grid errors - then closing the grid will not pop up the 'You must undo edits' message and will gracefully close the grid.
